  Ryan Murphy's 'The Politician' is a dark comedy that follows Payton Hobart (Ben Platt), an ambitious and wealthy high school student who has known since childhood that he wants to be President of the United States. Each season revolves around a different election, showcasing Payton's ruthless tactics and the absurd lengths he'll go to achieve his goals. While tonally different from 'Veep', 'The Politician' shares a satirical edge and a willingness to poke fun at the ambition and ego that often drive political figures. The show also features a stellar supporting cast, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Jessica Lange, who add to the series' quirky and over-the-top atmosphere.
