While Bingley takes an immediate liking to eldest daughter Jane, Darcy has difficulty adapting to local society and repeatedly clashes with second-eldest Elizabeth.

While several adaptations exist, the 1940 Pride and prejudice offers a look at Jane Austen's classic novel. The story revolves around the Bennet sisters as they navigate society and the pursuit of marriage. Laurence Olivier as Mr. Darcy and Greer Garson as Elizabeth Bennet bring Austen's characters to life. Although this version takes liberties with the source material, it serves as an introduction to the story's themes of social class, love, and prejudice.
