Marcus Antonius vender tilbake til Alexandria etter nederlaget ved Actium. Hans festing med Kleopatra blir avbrutt av Octavius’ ankomst. Pullo blir sendt for å spore opp Vorenus og hans unge reisefølge.

Marcus Antonius vender tilbake til Roma med Vorenus og Pullo for å tale Cæsars sak. Pompeius frarøver Cæsar makten, noe som fører til konflikt mellom de to. Pullo og Vorenus havner i Cæsars hær igjen.

Vorenus og Pullo beseirer Pompeius’ rekrutter. Pompeius overlater Roma til Cæsar. Patrisierfamiliene tvinges til å velge side. Cæsars elskerinne Servilia blir igjen mens hennes sønn Brutus flykter. Atia ansetter en livvakt.

Cæsar overveier et tilbud fra Pompeius. Vorenus har problemer med forretningene. Atia er sjalu og prøver å skille Servilia og Cæsar. Pullo får i oppdrag å lære opp Octavius som soldat, men ender opp med å lære et og annet selv.

Marcus Antonius overveier om han skal forbli lojal mot Cæsar. Atia prøver å forsones med Servilia.

Rollene blir igjen byttet om for Cæsar og Pompeius. Atia får hjelp av Octavia for å be Servilia om nok en tjeneste.

Cæsar ankommer Egypt med Vorenus og Pullo og inngår en allianse med Cleopatra.

Cæsar vender tilbake til Roma i triumf. Vorenus gjør seg klar for strid. Servilia prøver å avdekke en hemmelighet angående Cæsar.

Cæsar krones til keiser med pomp og prakt, mens Vorenus og Pullo planlegger sin framtid i den nye ordningen.
