Born on November 2, 1977, in Manchester, England, to Indian parents, Shetty began her career as a vocalist, earning a BM in Opera Performance from James Madison University and a Master of Music from the University of Kentucky, followed by an artist diploma from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
